For landlords
The same thing we do for homeowners, and you will use it more often. Post what needs doing at a property, one contractor takes it, and they get the address and your number — nobody else does.
What is actually different about a rental
Three things about how this works matter more when the property is not the one you live in.
- The address is not public. It goes to one contractor, after they have paid to take the job. Nobody browsing the site can see which properties are yours.
- One contractor per job. Accepting closes it, so you get one call rather than five — which matters when you are fielding them between other work.
- If nobody gets in touch, you are not stuck. We ask the contractor two days later whether they contacted you. If they did not, their fee goes back and your job returns to the board automatically. You do not have to chase it.
What we have not built yet
Being straight with you, because you will find out in ten minutes otherwise: there is no portfolio view, no per-property history, and no way to add a property manager to your account. Every job is posted one at a time, the way a homeowner posts one.
Those are the obvious things to build for somebody with several properties and they are what we are building next. We would rather say that than show you a page describing tools you would then go looking for.
What it costs you
Nothing. Homeowners and landlords pay nothing, ever — the contractor pays between $5 and $25 to accept a job, and that is the whole business. See what it costs.
