What you see before you pay
The work, in the customer's own words, with their photographs and the ZIP code. Enough to decide whether it is worth twenty dollars — which is the entire point.

Why the address is missing
Because it is the thing you are paying for. If it were on the board, the twenty dollars would be a donation — and the contractors who paid it would be subsidizing the ones who did not.
Why there is no bidding
Accepting closes the job. There is no second contractor racing you to the phone, because after you accept there is nothing left for them to accept.
What happens, in order
- You browseType of work and ZIP code, free. No account needed to look, and looking costs nothing ever.
- You acceptThe job closes to everybody else at that moment. Nobody is racing you to a phone call.
- You pay the job's feeThe only money that ever moves between us. Flat, whatever the job is worth.
- You get the address and the numberAnd you deal with the customer directly. What you charge them is between you and them; we never see it.
One contractor per job
Accepting a job closes it. Nobody else can accept the same job, so nobody else pays for it, and you are not racing four other people to a phone call.
That is the whole reason there is no dispute queue here: there is never a second contractor who also paid and also wants to be told they were the one who got hired.
You know what you are buying before you buy it
The whole job is on the board before any money moves — the customer's own words, their photographs, the ZIP code. The fee buys the introduction: the address and the number.
If something was wrong with a job, tell us what happened — a person reads it against our refund policy and decides on the circumstances.
Start taking work
No fee to join, nothing monthly, and no card until the first job you accept. It takes a mobile number and about a minute.
Set your trades and the areas you travel to, and anything posted inside them appears on your board. We are new and thin in most places, so it may be quiet for a while; that is coverage rather than anything switched off.
